Anything Feels Possible When You're in New York

Anything feels possible when you’re in New York. That’s just the energy of the city.

And just a week and a half ago, that feeling was captured in a photo of a double rainbow stretching across the skyline.

A photo that was immediately reposted to an account with more than two million followers, where it got over 59K likes and thousands of shares.

I know this isn’t a unique occurrence. Double rainbows happen everywhere.

But there was something about this one that made it feel special:

The timing.

It was the night before the Knicks played the championship game.

Whether you were a sports fan or not, every restaurant, subway car, office, and street corner in New York felt connected by the same sense of anticipation.

So wherever you were seeing that rainbow, you couldn’t help but hope for a win.

Because, in that moment, believing made you feel like you were a part of something larger than yourself.

There’s actually a term for this: collective effervescence.

It's the feeling that emerges when people share a common experience, belief, or goal. The energy that forms when individual emotions become collective ones.

That’s something we value and actively chase at Lefty's Right Mind.

Because we’re not interested in creating products or activations for the sake of it.

We’re interested in creating moments that make people feel seen. Moments that bring people together. Moments that people will remember for years to come.

Which is why our latest project felt so special.

LRM was honored to partner with two other brilliant New York creatives:

Lisa Eryn, long-time friend, artist, and founder of These Fine Walls, and Dan Martland, the photographer who captured the original image of the double rainbow that spread across social media.

Together, we set out to preserve this moment in time, when two rainbows appeared and millions found themselves believing something special was about to happen.

We came up with a one-of-a-kind print that when it came time to name, the answer felt obvious:

Collective Effervescence.

My hope is that when people see this piece, they're reminded of the moments in their own lives where strength, determination, commitment, and heart delivered.

Because there’s always magic in that.

There are only 50 editions available for purchase, and 15% of all sales will be donated to Garden of Dreams Foundation, an organization that brings life-changing opportunities to young people in need through education, inspiration, grants, and joy.
